Victory is mine!

Remember this post where I talked about fun stuff for my apartment that I would buy if I had unlimited money? And I really really wanted this shower curtain but it was $80 and there was no way I was paying that much?

Well, victory is mine because I found a substitute for only $25 on amazon!

My new shower curtain in all its glory

The ruffles are larger, and it's made of a crinkle chiffon as opposed to cotton. Although I like the look of the cotton one more, this one is a better fit for my bathroom since as you can see, there's only about 1 1/2 feet of room between the toilet and the bathtub, and I really didn't want to be fighting ruffles every time I had to pee. This one isn't that poofy and since the fabric is thinner it hangs with less fooferah. (Yes, I am declaring that a word.)

So basically I love this shower curtain like ponies and sprinkles and cake and unicorns.

If you want your own ruffly piece of goodness, you can find them here.

Remembering

It's been quiet around here longer than I intended, but shortly after I wrote the last post about her seeming to recover, the cancer took my grandma's liver and she passed away a week later. It's been a roller coaster and I just haven't felt like writing. However, while looking for pictures for the funeral we came across all these old black and white pictures from her childhood. I wanted to post a few, mostly in remembrance of her but also because they are great snapshots of a different time. Many of the photos weren't labeled so I don't know who many of the people are, but they were somehow a part of my grandma's life.
