Literary Inspirations - The Wizard of Oz

This week's literary inspiration is The Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum

Blue and white checked dresses - so smart of you to dress in munchkin and good witch colors - along with magical silver shoes will make you quite the fashionista on your way to the Emerald City. (Fact: the original shoes were silver, they were changed to ruby red in the 1939 movie because they would show up better on screen! Did I just wrench your world apart with the true color of the shoes and now your life is meaningless because all this time it's been a lie? Well um sorry, but I included some red sparkly nail polish called Ruby Slipper to ease your suffering.) Follow the yellow brick road with your trusty dog, Toto, and a picnic basket to carry food in. Just make sure you watch out for fields of poppies that put you to sleep, and always keep a pail of water on hand to melt evil witches!

  1. That polyvore is so clever. I just might have to buy that pillow. It'd really add a pop to my couch!

  2. Thank you! I love Polyvore, there are so many cute things on there that I never would have found otherwise!

  3. Wonderful! Relating to the shoes: Charlie was just enlightening me of that fact over the weekend after we saw Wicked. They use silver shoes also.

That dress is great! Normally I think checked looks like a table cloth, but this is cute!
